Rumours That I Couldn’t Give Birth Made Me Desperate To Have Another Child – Mzbel
Ghanaian musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel has opened up about giving birth to her second child, saying that she really wanted another child despite her age due to rumours that her son had been adopted and that she was unable to give birth.
She said on UTV’s Showbiz Night that she had decided to have her own child since she had found that caring for other people’s kids was not appreciated.
“My excitement led to my remark, “Me dier nie,” but it also triggered unpleasant memories of taking care of other people’s children… People say ridiculous things, like Adepa isn’t my son that I adopted him. My son has told me that he has heard rumours about him being adopted at school.
“The media followed that adoption narrative and imprinted it in the minds of the public, so that now many people view my son as an adopted child as well… This rumour and my experiences inspired me to have my own. I considered adoption, but ultimately decided that having biological children was the best decision. I was tired of all those criticisms and unfairness,” she said.
The 43-year-old artiste informed her fans and followers of the birth of her newborn girl in an Instagram post a few weeks ago. Mzbel expressed her happiness for the new member of her family.
Days ago, she revealed that social media wields so much power and has the tendency to make or unmake a person. In her view, if there’s something that one cherishes, social media should be the last place they share it.
She made this analogy in an effort to conceal the identity of the father of her daughter from her fans and the general public who have been questioning the identity of the baby’s father.
In a recent interview, Mzbel explained why she chose to keep her baby’s father’s identity secret, stating that she was worried about the possible negative effects of disclosing personal information on social media. She gave examples of people who suffered bad results after disclosing important details about their relationships online.
