Media personality Sammy Flex has succeeded Bulldog as the new manager of controversial Reggae and Dancehall specialist Shatta Wale.
Sammy Flex, whose real name is Samuel Atuobi Baah, declared that he is now Shatta Wale’s official manager. The Chief Executive Officer of Flex Entertainment explained in a video that after helping Shatta Wale with a number of projects over the past few months, it has become vital for them to ultimately agree to collaborate.
Many people have been speculating about his precise role in Shatta Wale’s career prior to his declaration. While some referred to him as Shatta Wale’s PR representative, others referred to him as the ‘Sergio Ramos’ of the well-known performer whenever he attempted to defend or clarify events involving Shatta Wale.
“I am sure over the few months that we have worked, Shatta has seen the contribution I have brought to his music business, career and personal life as well and at the moment he feels if you want to get to work with someone, you give what is called probation or what we call the trying moment, when you have to learn this and learn that. I am sure after some months, the gentleman feels that I have what it takes, the spirit, the enthusiasm; I have that kind of love for what he is doing so the best he can do is to place me to do his work as a manager, and I couldn’t say no,” he said.
Sammy said he sees the appointment as a honour. “I see it as a step forward in my career as an entertainment person, a journalist, as a creative arts contributor, I see it as a career advancement because he is one big brand that if you work with him your experience doubles, your exposure doubles,” he noted.
Wale has been without a manager and a team for some time now since he parted ways with Bulldog. Recall that Shatta Wale and Bulldog parted ways for the second time last year. Back in July 2022, Bulldog made this surprising disclosure when he was hosted in the studios of 3FM on Saturday.
The famous artiste manager who once had a stint with Zylofon Media said he has never mentioned this new development because when he and Wale reunited, both parties did not release an official statement to the public.
“But if people are not working together any longer, it doesn’t mean they are not talking or we are no longer friends,” Bulldog said as he denied having any issues with Shatta Wale.
On why he refused to talk about it, Bulldog said “because when I started working with him, no one wrote a story so why should the separation be announced? … if we are no longer together why should we come and announce it?“
Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo and Nii Aryii Tagoe, who were on the show as co-panellists, advised Bulldog to at least inform his industry colleagues about their separation and he said, “That is why I am telling you guys.”
