Shatta Wale & Medikal Set A Day Aside To Pray For Ghana Music

Shatta Wale and his ‘partner in crime’ Medikal, have caused uproar on social media after they revealed their intention to set a day aside to pray fervently for Ghana music together with their huge fanbases.

Evidently, this action is a component of their pre-event initiatives in anticipation of their annual Freedom Wave Festival scheduled for December 20th–25th, 2023.

As stated in the promotional flyer for the occasion, the two performers and their supporters will offer prayers for the industry on December 23, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Additional events for the five-day festival comprise the arrival of regional fan bases, showcasing of Shatta Movement merchandise, a pre-concert featuring emerging artists, a dress rehearsal for the performers, and the main concert.

The 2022 edition of the highly anticipated musical event, the Freedom Wave concert, was a resounding success, with Shatta Wale setting an unprecedented record by filling the entire stadium to full capacity. Hosted by Shatta Wale and Medikal, the concert was a grand showcase of musical talent, drawing fans from all walks of life who were treated to some amazing performances.

Shatta Wale, who arrived at the stadium in a long convoy of plush cars, demonstrated his unique stagecraft with some dazzling performances that left the thousands gathered in awe. He continued to thrill the audience with his spectacular performances until the morning of Boxing Day, just as he did at the first concert.

Medikal, Shatta Wale’s cohort, also delivered an outstanding performance that left patrons stunned. The award-winning rapper had fans cheering him on and singing along to some of his groundbreaking singles, including “La Hustle,” “Omo Ada,” “Ayekoo,” and many more.

The night was also graced by some amazing performances from other talented artists such as Larruso, Wendy Shay, Sista Afia, Quamina MP, Kofi Jamar, Black Sherif, and Phrimpong, among others. With tickets selling for as little as GHC20, the second edition of the Freedom Wave concert will go down in history as one of the most successful music concerts in Ghana.
