Songstress OV Dares Stonebwoy To Reveal Real Reason Why She Left His Record Label

OV’s acrimonious exit from Burniton Music owned by Stonebwoy has come under the spotlight again after the songstress dared her former boss to reveal the real reason why she left.

In a recent interview with Kwaku Manu on the ‘Aggressive Show,’ OV alluded to Stonebwoy’s knowledge of the reasons behind their separation but refrained from providing further details.

She urged the presenters to inquire about her departure, as well as that of Kelvynboy and Black Sidi, from Stonebwoy. OV also refuted speculations about her association with illicit substances, affirming that her sole preference is wine and that she abstains from smoking.

“I dare you, presenters, to put it to him on why we left the label and push him to say the truth”, she stated.

In a previous interview conducted in 2022, Okailey Verse (OV) finally told the media about the psychological trauma she went through when her mentor and boss at Burniton Music Group, Stonebwoy, kicked her out of his record label.

Without mincing words, the former winner of MTN Hitmaker told Giovani Caleb on the 3FM Drive that her abrupt exit from Stonebwoy’s record label made her depressed and mentally unstable.

She shared her sad story, revealing;

“It was after the exit. It was something that hit me very hard. It got me thinking, ‘Am I not enough? It started giving me doubts about deserving to be on a label. It put me through some state that I will not wish for my enemy. It put me through a lot. I was depressed. It got to a point I stayed away from everybody.”

OV revealed that while out with another performer, she had a psychotic break. She described how she almost tore her clothing off and needed an Uber to get home quickly.

The Dancehall act said she was institutionalized after her despair turned into a psychotic breakdown that left her disabled.

“I was at a friend’s event. When I got there, I felt like something was not right. So I went out. I started feeling a burning sensation and wanted to take off my clothes.

“I was confined for two weeks. It got to a point where they gave me an overdose of the medicine, unknowingly, and I was paralyzed and drooling all over”.

As she discussed the apparent addiction, OV asserted that she had never used narcotics. She blamed depression for her mental ailment.
