Stonebwoy More Popular In Jamaica Than Any Other Ghanaian Artiste- Hezron Clarke
In a recent interview on Asempa FM, Hezron Clarke, who is currently in Ghana until January 2024, emphasized that Stonebwoy is the only Ghanaian artist he is familiar with, as his popularity extends throughout his home country, Jamaica.
In addition to Davido and Burna Boy, Clarke emphasized the significance of Stonebwoy as one of the leading African music artistes. Clarke, expressing his deep admiration for Stonebwoy’s worldwide popularity, disclosed his desire to work together with talented musicians from Ghana throughout his visit.
I only know about Stonebwoy and some Afrobeats stars like Davido and Burna Boy. It’s only Stonebwoy I hear of in Jamaica; he’s very popular. I’m supposed to collaborate with Wutah Afriyie and Ras Kuuku,” he announced, adding that he also plans to shoot a music video in Ghana.
Who is Hezron Clarke?
Hezron Clarke was born and raised in the District of Moy Hall, St. James, Jamaica, before moving to the U.S.A. During his time in Jamaica, Hezron discovered his talent and became a dedicated member of his church choir.
His musical abilities were recognized by his family and friends, who supported his development in any way they could.
However, after migrating to the U.S., Hezron felt the need to explore different genres and ventured into singing R&B. Despite his success in that genre, his true passion lay in the rich Reggae music of his homeland. This led him to return to Jamaica and pursue his calling as an exceptional Reggae artist.
Upon his return, Hezron wasted no time and released a series of hit singles that quickly gained attention within the local music industry. One of his notable singles, “So In Love,” was featured on Tads Records’ “Hit List” and VP Records’ “Strictly the Best Vol 41.”
The song also made waves on overseas charts, particularly in South Florida and New York, where it spent an impressive 25 weeks. Additionally, “So In Love” reached number one on the “Richie B’s” Music Countdown chart in Jamaica.
In 2011, Hezron released another successful single titled “Forever and Always,” produced by Watage Productions, on the “Jahness Riddim.” This song became an instant hit. Hezron has also released other notable singles such as “Jamming Till A Morning,” “Take Your Clothes Off,” “We Shall Find A Way” (which topped the Richie B’s chart during the State of Emergency in May 2010), and “Two Places” featuring Shaggy.
