“The Recruit” Series Premieres on Netflix Friday, Dec. 16

Plot: A rookie lawyer at the CIA stumbles headlong into the dangerous world of international espionage when a former asset threatens to expose agency secrets.

In this Netflix comedy from “The Rookie” creator Alexi Hawley, Noah Centineo wants to move beyond his position as a teen heartthrob. The series puts the charm that Centineo brought to his role as Black Adam front and center.

Eight episodes here, and something tells us it’s a sure-shot for Season 2.
