Tiwa Savage, The Only African Artiste To Perform At King Charles III’s Coronation Concert In Windsor Castle

Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian pop sensation, will perform live at King Charles III’s coronation concert at Windsor Castle on May 7, making her the only African artiste on the bill and the first Nigerian artiste to Perform at a foreign royal event.

The BBC Studios-produced performance will take place on the grounds of Windsor Castle as part of a three-day celebration.

Tiwa Savage will be joined by Take That and Lionel Richie, as well as a Coronation Orchestra comprised of members of ensembles patronised by the King when he was Prince of Wales.

Prior to the occasion, the singer met Camilla, the Queen Consort, while on a trip overseas.
Tiwa Savage responded to the news by saying she’s delighted to represent her culture at the ceremony.

“It’s truly an honour to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historic event.

“I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!,”
she said.

Following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year, King Charles will take the throne.

The event, which will be attended by the King and Queen as well as other members of the Royal family, is likely to be an eclectic blend of Ibiza classics, afrobeats, and classical music.

This gig is a huge milestone and recognition of Tiwa’s talent and accomplishments, which may make her the most sought-after African artiste in the following months, depending on how they show goes.
