Tiwa Savage Shuts Down Claims That She Does Not Support Her Female Colleagues
Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has responded to accusations of not supporting female acts by highlighting her collaborations with female singers.
She took to Instagram to share a song she did with Ghanaian singer Efya, challenging her critics by asking who has worked with more women than her.
Tiwa wrote; “But they ALWAYS want to say TIWA SXVAGE does not like or support female artists. Please who has more female collabs and There is sooo many more not even listed here. Yall miss me with that bull sh$t narrative, I dey hustle money on my mind”.
To this one fan reinforced the conversation by saying: “So Tiwa has obviously collaborated with more female artists but they don’t stream female collaborations and they want em to collabo.”
Savage appeared on BBC’s list of the 100 inspirational and innovative women for 2017. She also made the Women4Africa 2022 Goldlist. Artists such as Ayra Starr and Brettina have cited Savage as one of their key musical influences.
