Why You Should Not Practice Polygamy – Man Whose Grandmother Married 3 Men Shares Story
A Nigerian man has used social media to caution people against getting married to multiple partners.
On Thursday, March 2, the man tweeted the advice while recalling how his grandmother’s body had been exhumed and removed from the morgue.
The shocking deed, according to the narrator, was committed as a result of conflict between her offspring from various marriages. He disclosed that during his grandma’s existence, she had three husbands (which is termed polyandry).
“Omo, avoid Polygamy if you can o. My grandma married 3 husbands. Remembering that her corpse was stolen from the mortuary because of a disagreement between children cracks me up every time.
And if you must, put your house in order before you die.
Ensure your children respect each other.
Don’t ever pit children against each other.” he tweeted.
Polyandry is a form of polygamy in which a woman takes two or more husbands at the same time. Polyandry is contrasted with polygyny, involving one male and two or more females.
If a marriage involves a plural number of “husbands and wives” participants of each gender, then it can be called polygamy, group or conjoint marriage.
In its broadest use, polyandry refers to sexual relations with multiple males within or without marriage.
