Afia Schwarzenegger Sues Maurice Ampaw For Contempt
Ghanaian socialite and comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger has initiated legal action against lawyer Maurice Ampaw, citing contempt of court following his recent remarks about her on radio.
In a recent interview with Kasapa FM, Maurice Ampaw boasted about intimidating Afia with a lawsuit, resulting in a 10-day court sentencing. He claimed to have compelled her to apologize to the court, effectively silencing her.

However, displeased with Maurice Ampaw’s continued disparaging comments, especially in light of her ongoing defamation lawsuit against him, Afia Schwarzenegger has taken legal action, accusing him of contempt.
According to the writ of summons served by Afia’s legal team, Maurice Ampaw has persistently disrespected and verbally abused her in various media appearances, despite the pending court case. His behavior, as outlined in the writ, is viewed as an affront to the dignity of the court.
Afia seeks justice for what she perceives as gross disrespect and disregard for the court proceedings, urging Maurice Ampaw’s conviction for contempt of court and imprisonment as a deterrent to others.
The feud between Afia Schwarzenegger and Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stems from her legal dispute with Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Their legal battle began in 2022 when Afia Schwarzenegger made allegations against Chairman Wontumi on UTV, resulting in a lawsuit against her and four other UTV panellists for defamation.
Afia Schwarzenegger’s resistance to her arrest and subsequent contempt charges further fueled the animosity between her and Maurice Ampaw.
