Asiedu Nketiah Issues Stern Waning To NDC Members Over Alan Kyeremateng

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, commonly known as General Mosquito, has expressed his concern regarding the derogatory remarks made by members of his political party towards Alan Kyerematen, an independent Presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 election.

Nketiah firmly believes that people like Kyerematen and Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, who also distanced themselves from the party years ago, should not be subjected to criticism or insults. He argues that these individuals are actively engaged in a noble struggle for the secure and prosperous future of Ghana.

“I hear some of our members insulting people like Alan Kyerematen and others like him,” He said.

He added that Alan is “helping Ghana to get rid of a dictator and the dictator’s party…. This dictator is pretending to be a democrat…. Using state institutions to silence the voice of dissent.. So Alan is helping Ghana in reality” Asiedu Nketiah said on Angel FM.

Asiedu Nketia added that in his opinion, insulting Alan Kyerematen was needless because “shooting some birds is a waste of bullet…. ”

On September 25, 2023, Alan Kyerematen, a prominent member of Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), announced his resignation from the party in order to pursue an independent candidacy for the presidency.

Having previously served as Minister of Trade and Industry under President Nana Akufo-Addo, Kyerematen had previously sought the NPP’s presidential nomination in both 2014 and 2019, albeit without success.

During his resignation speech, Kyerematen expressed his conviction that he is the most qualified individual to guide Ghana towards a prosperous future, hence his decision to run as an independent candidate. Subsequent to his resignation, Kyerematen has faced criticism from members of his own party as well as opposition figures.
