Bawumia Is Not An NPP Member- Buabeng Asamoah Fires

Internal strife within the elephant party has been conspicuous in recent times as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for their presidential primary.

Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, a former NPP communications director and representative for the Adentan district, claims that Mahamadu Bawumia is disqualified to be president based on the aforementioned.

The Vice President, according to Mr Buabeng Asamoah, who is currently in charge of running Alan Kyeremateng’s campaign, lacks his own policies.

Buabeng Asamoah claimed in an interview with Okay FM that Dr Bawumia was not an NPP member and that he had only been asked to be Akufo-Addo’s running mate because of his expertise in the economy.

Mr Buabeng Asamoah also vehemently defended the vice president’s ineligibility for the presidency and denied ever endorsing Dr Bawumia for the job.

He asserts that Alan Kyeremateng has put a lot of effort into the NPP and that it is time for him to demonstrate his dedication.

Additionally, Mr Alex Tetteh, a member of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team for the Assin Central seat, has passionately opposed the idea of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia becoming the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer before the 2024 elections.

Recall that Tru News Report reported that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, recently declared his intention to run for the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He has stated that he is ready to take charge of the party and “break the eight.”

According to MyJoyOnline, he reportedly told the majority caucus in a meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd. The NPP’s presidential nomination elections are set for November 2023. Primary election nominations will be accepted from May 26 to June 24, 2023.

So far, nine candidates have announced their candidatures for party administration. Among them are Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Trades and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai Nimo.

Joe Ghartey, a former member of parliament for Essikado-Ketan; Kwabena Agyepong, a former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku; and Boakye Agyarko, a former minister of energy, round out the group.

Who is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia wife, Samira Bawumia?

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is married to Samira Bawumia. Before moving on to the Akosombo International School (AIS) and finally the Mfantsiman Girls’ Secondary School in Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana, Samira began her early education at the Answarudeen Islamic School at Fadama and Alsyd Academy in Accra.

Samira won the Ghanaian Women Association of Georgia Global Humanitarian Award in May 2022 for her efforts to improve women’s empowerment, maternity and child health, and education in the USA. Additionally, she was acknowledged by Macon-Bibb County and the Atlanta City Council.
