Madam Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei, the former chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana scolded a tweep who resurrected an age-long unsubstantiated rumour attached to her personality that she is affiliated with the opposition National Democratic Congress.
The tweep delved into the archives and shared a report contained in a flyer that stipulated that she is vying for the Ayawaso Wuogon Seat on the party’s ticket. The Twitter user who goes by the name General Buhari sought clarification from her, saying his attention had been brought to a flyer making rounds online, which suggests she is responsible for the above-mentioned constituency in the name of the NDC. The Tweep wrote;
Good Evening Mad former EC Chairwoman, I have always made my checks on issues before I tweet, can you please confirm for me the authenticity of this attached “campaign flier” that contains your name and Picture? Thank you
In response, Madam Charlotte said:
I have NEVER been a parliamentary candidate or aspirant. For the records, I have also NEVER been a member of ANY political party. Please get your facts right
