D-Black ‘Exposes’ Selfish Ghanaian Artistes In The Industry

D-Black has shed light on the negative aspects of Ghana’s entertainment industry, highlighting the self-centred behaviour of certain artists who prioritize their interests over their colleagues.

During his self-produced show ‘Uncut with D-Black’, he exposed the deliberate refusal of some musicians to collaborate with others on projects.

Additionally, he disclosed instances where artistes would not recommend their peers for gigs, despite being approached by corporations seeking to host shows in Ghana.

“Selfish! That’s really how our industry is. Like, nobody wants to share wealth because, in this entertainment space, the revenue streams are very limited.

“There are so many artistes that I know if they got a call from a big corporation that wants to come to do a show in Ghana and if the company tells them, ‘I want you, but I want you to bring some other people, recommend some other people’ They would take only their money and that will be the end of it,” he bemoaned.

He further added: “I’ll do it very differently. I’ll call the people that I think will pop off and make the show a success and make sure that everything runs smoothly.

“But not everybody’s built like that. A lot of people feel like they can do it on their own, too. A lot of people feel like they don’t need any help. But that’s why we’re here.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian hip-hop artist Ice Prince shared an intriguing statement on X, previously known as Twitter, inviting music enthusiasts to engage in a lively discussion, a few days ago.

In his statement, Ice Prince expressed his hypothetical desire to engage in a lyrical battle with Ghanaian rapper D-Black, confidently asserting that he would outshine him in every aspect.

Ice Prince even humorously suggested that D-Black would be so overwhelmed by his lyrical prowess that he would seek assistance from renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie to avoid further embarrassment.
