Eno Barony Discusses Challenges As A Female Rapper

Ghanaian rapper Eno Barony opened up about the challenges she faces as a female musician, saying that both male and female rappers frequently beef with her because she’s the best.

Eno revealed that both male and female counterparts regularly attack her with disses and battle challenges due to her talent. She stated that she is unbothered and determined to pursue her own development as an artiste, regardless of the criticism.

Eno Barony stated that she is different from any other female rappers in the world because of her unconventional talent in an interview on The Day Show with Berla Mundi. While Nicki Minaj found success by teaming up with male musicians, Eno Barony chose her own unique path by refusing the easy route of imitation.

“My situation is different from any female rapper I have ever heard of in the world because Nicky Minaj is being Nicky Minaj working with the guys, while for me, both male and female rappers often take shots and challenge me to battle,” she said.

“When the girls first get into the industry, they want to throw shots at me. As if that weren’t enough, male rappers often challenge me to battles in order to showcase their skills. For example, when a guy is rapping and I’m minding my own business, they’ll say Eno should battle this guy,” she continued.

Eno Barony remains optimistic regardless of the hostility and challenges she has faced. She made this interesting analogy: “If a fruit on a tree is not nice, nobody would throw stones at it.”
