Family Of Woman Shot Dead In Kumasi By Jealous Boyfriend Demand Justice

The family of the late Victoria Dapaa, also known as Maa Adwoa who was gunned down by her alleged jealous boyfriend have humbly implored the hierarchy of the Ghana police to expedite the investigation to bring the culprit to book.

Tru News Report shared details about the gruesome murder on Friday revealing how the young lady from Kumasi in her mid-20s was gunned down by her boyfriend in a love-turned-sour scenario.

Consequently, the police in Kumasi have launched a massive search for the unidentified man after he allegedly fired multiple shots to kill a woman at Adum in Kumasi on Thursday night.

The attacker, according to the account provided by Graphic Online, hopped into a rickshaw [a small, two-wheeled passenger vehicle known as a Pragya in Ghana] and fled.

Around 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, the incident took place behind Aseda House near Dufie Towers. The woman, who was reportedly a single mother, was taken in an ambulance to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where doctors immediately declared her dead.

According to a new update shared by Graphic Online, the family says if the woman couldn’t be revived, the family would feel some relief if the offender was captured and put on trial, according to Adwoa Nyarko, the deceased’s aunt.

She claimed that Maa Adwoa was about to get ready for bed after finishing her bath when she received a call and decided to leave.

Even her brother and one other aunt allegedly attempted to stop her, but she insisted that she was not going very far and left, saying, “Only for us to hear of the gunshots and later saw her in a pool of blood.

According to Ms Nyarko, the family only knew about the woman’s footballer lover, who was at the time outdoors and was unaware of her relationship with the aforementioned tycoon.

They said the pleadings followed what seemed to be an argument, but the said Tycoon probably ignored her pleas and pulled the trigger five times before bolting on a rickshaw.

“We did not see when it exactly happened, but we heard two gunshots, and then we heard Maa Adwoa pleading with Tycoon not to kill her, and then we heard three more shots in quick succession, and by the time we rushed to the scene, Tycoon had run away from the scene,” one of the eyewitnesses said.
