How Armed Robber Attacked Ex-Second Lady Amissah-Arthur, Made Away With $3k

In a startling incident that occurred in early December 2023, armed robbers targeted the residence of Matilda Amissah-Arthur, the former Second Lady of Ghana.

According to a report by the Herald, the assailant, masked and armed, managed to breach the security measures at the Tesano house in Accra, despite the presence of a considerable police force.

According to the report, the lone robber confronted Mrs. Amissah-Arthur, seizing her by the neck and demanding money and jewelry.

In response to the threat, the former Second Lady handed over an estimated US$3000 to the assailant, who swiftly fled the scene. The money was released as a means for Mrs. Amissah-Arthur to secure her freedom.

The apprehended perpetrator is currently in police custody. However, the Ghana Police Service according to the Herald, has chosen to maintain silence on the matter, prompting questions about the nature of the security breach.

The victim’s identity, Matilda Amissah-Arthur, was deliberately concealed during official communications, referring to her only as “Mrs. Atta.”

This decision to keep the case low-profile has led to speculation, especially considering the extensive security network surrounding the residence. The incident raises curiosity about how the armed robber, believed to have an accomplice, successfully infiltrated the former Second Lady’s house.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is yet to officially speak on the report.
