I’m Building Hostel—Akwasi Boateng Shares Details Of How He’s Using Money Donated To Him

A new update regarding the money that singer Edward Akwasi Boateng has received from Ghanaians to date has been shared by the veteran singer himself.

The Ghanaian gospel musician praised certain significant individuals who have been incredibly helpful in recent times, while also refuting some false narratives that have been spread about him by those close to him, including his own family, since word of his financial situation broke online.

He claims that he is constructing a hostel adjacent to his flat that he would be able to rent out to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) students.

He claimed he needed to make the public aware of what he was doing with the money in a video that has now gone viral on social media to allay accusations that he is misusing it.

He took the chance to express his gratitude to all who have contributed to him and promised not to disappoint. In the end, he expressed his gratitude to Angel TV, Prophet El Benard, Apostle Solomon Oduro, and Afia Schwarzenegger for their assistance.

“I want to thank everyone who has been supporting me, especially Afia Schwarzenegger, who sent me her tithe. Angel TV, Apostle Solomon Oduro and Prophet El Benard for the support. My only family condemned me and said I was useless, among other things. They said I like taking loans, and I like taking money from women. I am none of that, so people should notice that,” he said.

Tru News Report previously reported that a video that circulated online showed veteran singer Edward Akwasi Boateng selling pen drives and CDs at an undisclosed lorry station in Kumasi to make ends meet.

The video sparked discussions online as people questioned what led to Mr. Boateng’s current situation. Despite his unrecognizable appearance due to life’s challenges, he was identified by an anonymous person.

This turn of events may be linked to his previous statement in an interview where he mentioned selling his 17 vehicles and facing marital issues that eventually led to his divorce.

It remains to be seen if his industry colleagues will come to his aid following the emotional video that has garnered significant attention online.
