Kofi Kinaata Set To Drop His 1st Ever Album
Kofi Kinaata has taken to social media to announce his upcoming album, much to the excitement of his fans.
This will be the first time the talented songwriter and rapper will be releasing a full album, as he has previously only released single hit songs.
In the past, Kofi Kinaata has been hesitant to release EPs or albums, as he felt that listeners tend to focus solely on the lead tracks. However, he has listened to his fans’ requests and decided to give them something special to enjoy.
During an interview on Daybreak Hitz, which was aired on Hitz FM, Kofi Kinaata revealed that his album, titled “Kofi O Kofi,” is scheduled to be released at the end of April 2024.
Fans can look forward to a total of seven tracks on this highly anticipated project, including his recent chart-topping single “Effiekuma Heartbreak.”
Kofi Kinaata also shared the titles of other tracks such as “Auntie Ama,” “Abonsam Ye Me Neighbor (Abonsam),” “Saman Aba Wo Fie (Saman),” “I Don’t Care,” and “Take Away.”
Kofi Kinaata, a renowned Ghanaian musician and songwriter from Takoradi, made his debut in 2011 with his first single “Obi Ne Ba.” He is widely recognized for his fante rap and freestyle skills.
Kinaata’s lyrical prowess is evident in his unique rhyme schemes and his ability to incorporate humorous Fante rap style and traditional African proverbs in his local language, which both entertain and educate his audience. In February 2020, he was honored with the Hybrid Song of the Year award at the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards 2019.
Additionally, Kofi Kinaata has achieved the prestigious Songwriter of the Year title at the Ghana Music Awards for three consecutive years.
One of his notable songs, “Made in Taadi,” released in December 2015, resonated deeply with the Fante people due to its connection to their beloved “Ankos” annual festival, a vibrant Fancy dress and Masqueraders Xmas Carnival held during Christmas.
Furthermore, in September 2023, Kinaata had the opportunity to perform at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Awards, held at the University of Professional Studies Accra, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
