Kwabena Kwabena Regrets Marrying In His Twenties; Says It Wasted His Youthful Age
Ghanaian Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has spoken out about his sorrow at getting married so young, saying that he wishes he had those years back.
He feels that instead of settling down at such a young age, he should have concentrated on his promising career.
The singer recently stated in an interview with Zionfelix, “The irony of the whole situation is that I played a role in stealing my whole life away from me at one point… The reason why I am saying that is that at 26 and 27, around that time, I felt that what I should have done was to focus on my career and not allow any external force to derail my train,” he explained.
Instead of dwelling on his misfortune, the musician has used his experiences with heartache to inspire some of his most beautiful love songs.
Kwabena Kwabena stated that he is glad that he can regain what he sees as wasted possibilities to enjoy his life at the time.
Now that he’s older and wiser, Kwabena Kwabena said, he knows better than to take anything for granted and always make the most of any opportunity.
“I felt like a young guy around that time, but by God’s grace, God has given me the chance again to have a second shot at my life... That’s the reason why I am not taking things for granted because around that time, there were other people who became casualties or were involved, and so I don’t want to make it look as if I was a great person and somebody was bad.
“I feel that at a point in my life, I should have focused on my career more than any other thing. I shouldn’t have married then,” he concluded.
