Kwame Yogot ‘Chases’ Dr Mahamudu Bawumia For His Money

Kwame Yogot has brought to the attention of the vice president and current flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, that he is indebted to him for utilizing his song for political motives without obtaining his consent.

The rapper and singer expressed his disappointment in not receiving any compensation after Bawumia employed his song ‘Biibi Besi’ for campaigning during the Assin North by-election. This sentiment was conveyed during his recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast’s Property FM.

He said “Oh naa I’ve not gotten anything from Dr. Bawumia after he used my song Biibi Besi to campaign during the Assin North by-election held last year.

“My former record label all the people there are big men within the NPP so I don’t know what they are doing if they’ve gone to take money behind my back,” he added.

“Just recently I had a conversation with the CEO of my former record label and he told me that they’ve brought a certain offer but since then I’ve not heard from anyone again.

“I didn’t even want them to use my song to campaign in the first place and so when he told me I said as for me I’m not interested in those things. But since then I’ve not been updated as to what is happening”.

In related news, Kwame Yogot remains enraged by the alleged cunning move Amerado made against him and has once again shed light on the matter during a recent interview.

According to him, Amerado took a song they collaborated on called “Shege” and used it for his own track titled “Kwaku Ananse.” Not stopping there, he accused Amerado of sampling his song “Replay” to create his “Abronoma” song.

Speaking to Property FM, Kwame Yogot stressed that individuals with a discerning musical ear can confirm that Amerado has unquestionably copied his work.

He added, “We all know that it’s true because we listen to the songs which are out and if you hear a song which has been sampled from someone we can surely attest to it”.

The Ghanaian rapper said he feels that there’s a need for him to voice out to clear it from his mind and besides he’s not afraid of Amerado.
