Mzbel Refers To John Mahama As Her ‘Daddy’ In Fresh Interview

Mzbel has referred to former president John Dramani Mahama as her ‘daddy’, revealing how much she misses him.

During an interview with Caleb Nii Boye on Showbiz 92.7, the Hiplife star and radio personality acknowledged that she misses John Mahama. However, she mentioned that she had not attempted to contact him. Mzbel speculated that he may have changed his phone number.

“Because if he wants me to have his number, he will let me have it; I don’t have to chase for it”, she exclaimed after being asked why she has not tried retrieving his number from others.

The 43-year-old singer acknowledged that their relationship was shattered by events that occurred three years ago. The singer known as “Asibolanga” stated that, as she is currently free from drama and attacks, there is no need to reconcile.

Mzbel firmly asserted that, despite the previous uproar, she remains a supporter and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In addition to her musical abilities, Mzbel has expanded into the corporate world, serving as the CEO of Mzbel Music, Bel Group, and Bel Eye Media.

Her versatile talents have also extended to the fields of media and cinema, where she has made notable appearances. Furthermore, she holds the esteemed position of global ambassador for individuals with disabilities.

After having gained experience at Groove FM, she sought to further her career by joining TV3 as a production assistant for one of the station’s youth-oriented programs, Goldblast. She also served as the floor manager for the same show and as a production assistant for another program, Talking Drum. In 2002, she was presented with an opportunity to work with Hush Hush Studios, a new production company at the time.

While at Hush Hush, she occasionally entered the studio and sang along to songs she had created as the technicians played their instruments. These were songs she had previously sung to herself with no serious intention of pursuing a music career.

While working part-time at Hush Hush Studios, she secured another job at Metro TV as the sole digital video editor and presenter for Smash TV, a weekend entertainment program. Following her departure from Metro TV, she was employed by Apex Advertising as a video editor and production manager.

She attempted to balance her music career with her job responsibilities at Apex, but ultimately decided to devote her full attention to music. Over time, she has faced criticism for her choice of clothing, which has been described as “sexy” or “skimpy”. However, Mzbel believes that, as an artist, it is important to have a unique appearance. She has always aspired to be a source of inspiration for the underprivileged and to assist those in need.
