Samira Bawumia’s Bodyguard Buried After Fatal Crash

A funeral service has been held for Alhassan Fuseini, a member of Samira Bawumia’s security detail, who tragically lost his life in an accident on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

The late Alhassan Fuseini was part of the convoy accompanying Mrs. Bawumia, which collided with a bus at Ohene-Nkwata near Nobewam in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The multi-vehicle accident involved two Toyota Land Cruisers, a Mercedes Benz car, and the Sprinter Benz bus, resulting in eight victims, four of whom sustained severe injuries.

During today’s ceremony, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia, were seen in a solemn mood as they accompanied Alhassan’s family. Alhassan Fuseni had faithfully guarded Mrs. Bawumia for about five years.

The burial proceedings on Sunday, January 14, 2023, adhered to Islamic customs, reflecting the cultural and religious practices of the late security team member.

The somber event brought together family, friends, and colleagues to pay their final respects to Alhassan Fuseini, whose dedicated service will be remembered by those who knew him.

Present were Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his spouse, Samira, Chief of Staff Frema Akosua Opare and other government officials.
