Reggie Rockstaone Exposes Ghanaian Artistes Over Streaming Numbers ‘Theft’
Reggie Rockstone has caused quite a stir by shedding light on the questionable methods employed by many of his peers in the music industry to maintain their relevance and boost their brand.
According to him, several Ghanaian musicians resort to purchasing streaming numbers using their funds solely to create the illusion that their careers are thriving, a proclamation that has started a new conversation as far as entertainment in Ghana is concerned.
During an interview on Property FM, Rockstone boldly asserted that these musicians engage in the practice of buying streams and views to deceive the Ghanaian public.
He further emphasized that Ghanaian musicians are essentially wasting their money, as they invest significant amounts in streams and views without reaping any substantial benefits in return.
“The white people are enjoying our money out of the digital streaming platforms they’ve created, like Spotify and the rest. They’re really spending our money and they always find a new way to rip so we have a lot of things that we have to look at”, he said.
A streaming media service is an online platform that enables users to watch or listen to various types of content, such as movies, TV shows, music, or podcasts, through the internet. Instead of downloading the content onto their device, users can stream it in real-time, allowing them to start watching or listening immediately without any waiting time for the complete file to download. Well-known examples of streaming services include Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.
To start and continue playing digital video content, a client end-user can utilize a media player, computer, smartphone, or smart TV, even before the entire file has finished transmitting. An internet connection is necessary for users to stream or download video content. Users who lack compatible hardware or software systems may encounter difficulties in streaming or downloading certain content.
