Three Children, Three Adults Dead After Shooting At Private Christian School In Nashville; Shooter Killed

A shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville has left three children and three Staff Members dead and the shooter killed.

The suspect was a 28-year-old woman, according to authorities. She was shot and murdered in the lobby on the second floor.

The incident occurred on Monday morning just before 10:30 a.m. as officers received a call about a shooter at the Covenant School, a Christian school for students in preschool through sixth grade.

Nashville Police said in a tweet, “An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr. The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead. Student reunification with parents is at Woodmont Baptist Church.”

According to new updates, at least three children were shot and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were all sadly pronounced dead. VUMC also confirms two adults have been killed in the shooting.

First lady Jill Biden has briefly addressed the shooting. She said at National League of Cities conference on Monday, “”I am truly without words. Our children deserve better.” Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee also tweeted that he’s “closely monitoring the tragic situation. Please join us in praying for the school, congregation & Nashville community,”

The shooting comes just weeks after a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, which left 17 people dead. School shootings have become a major issue in the United States, with many people calling for stricter gun control laws.

The shooting is likely to reignite the debate over gun control, with many people calling for action to be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

Meanwhile, Florida House of Representatives has passed a controversial bill that would allow people to carry concealed firearms without a state concealed-weapons license.

The bill would remove the current licensing steps, including background screening and training, for people to carry concealed firearms.
