According to a sad story originally shared by Graphic Online, a police officer was slain during an attack on a bullion vehicle in the Ablekuma Fanmilk neighborhood of Accra, Ghana, in a horrifying daylight robbery crime.
Videos of the incident’s aftermath that have been shared on social media show some bystanders helping the police officer who was killed after being pulled from the back of a pick-up vehicle. At the scene, the cop passed away from his injuries.
Reports state that the attack happened when the bullion van stopped at a gas station, perhaps to get fuel. According to reports, this is when the attackers started attacking the car. Fortunately, the van’s driver was able to flee without getting hurt.
The Ghana Police Service has begun a manhunt to find the gang of suspected robbers involved in the attack on the bullion van and the subsequent shooting of the police officer in response to the unfortunate incident.
The police released the following statement regarding the ongoing investigation:
“The Police are on a manhunt to arrest a gang of four robbers who attacked a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra, and shot the police escort who has unfortunately passed on. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of our deceased colleague in particular and all personnel of the Police Service in general. We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the robbers arrested to face justice.”
