We Have Men For The Job- Chris Hughton Boasts About Talent In Black Stars

Ghanaian players have exceptional talent, and Black Stars coach Chris Hughton thinks that talent may help the squad significantly in reaching its goals.

The abundant talent he has at his disposal saw the Ghanaian coach telling SuperSports in a recent interview that success for the national team is imminent after years of disappointment at global showpieces.

Prior to his appointment, Hughton was a member of a four-person technical team that guided the squad to the 2022 World Cup as the Technical Advisor. In his words, being a part of the team has given him the opportunity to recognize tremendous talent, which he believes will be essential to the team’s success.

“Getting results is about believing in the players. I think we have a talented group of players and a talented squad,” he said,” he told SuperSports.

He said;

It is trying to get that we get the right dynamics in the team and of course ultimately picking the right team to get results. You have to rely on good team spirits, good team organisation, togetherness, and desire from the team to win a football match.

In a related development, Dreams FC strategist Karim Zito recently said the senior national team has advanced under new head coach Chris Hughton.

Since taking over, the Irish have overseen two matches, including a pair of AFCON 23 qualifying matches against Angola in March. The Palancras Negras were defeated by the Black Stars 1-0 in Kumasi and held to a 1-1 draw in Luanda.

Zito believes the team is heading in the right direction. He told Kessben TV: “In terms of points, four out six, what do you want again?

You see the changes. You see the aggressiveness of these young ones wanting to win at all cost but luck just eluded them in Angola. So far so good, I am okay with him (Hughton). There’s improvement because they are playing according to instructions given to them.”

Chris Hughton is a professional football manager and former player. Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team. He is the current head coach of the Ghana national team.

In February 2023, he was promoted to the position of head coach of Ghana following the resignation of Otto Addo after the failure of the Black Stars at the World Cup Qatar 2022.
