Yvonne Nelson Rejected NPP Because Of Me – John Dumelo

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Ayawaso West Wuogon has revealed that his bestie Yvonne Nelson declined to join forces with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest him.

His revelation was sighted by Tru News Report on Twitter, shortly after Yvonne Nelson’s autobiography, titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” was published on June 18, 2023.

I remember @yvonnenelsongh called me sometime back before the 2020 elections to tell me someone extremely close to the current president had asked her to contest in Ayawaso West on the ticket of NPP. These were her words to me “John, I can’t do that to you, I told them no, I can’t throw away our many years friendship because of politics.” 🙏🏿

Previously he mentioned the same thing when he was hosted in the studios of Hitz FM while speaking to Doreen Avio. Dumelo said the ‘Princess Tyra’ star has earned his respect for putting their friendship above everything.

The actor recalled the moment saying thus;

“You know she told me about this, about this thing long ago that somebody approached her to contest against me. And what I realized was that I respected her for that. For one telling me, for not taking that decision because clearly if you’ve been told to contest I mean of course whoever is telling or the group that is telling you are ready to support you with whatever support you need. And so I think she put our friendship there that you know what John is my friend. I cannot do this against John. I cannot contest against John and that is what real friends do,” he said.
