Akrobeto To Battle Trevor Noah, Ebuka For International Award

Real News host Akrobeto has been nominated for the prestigious My Africa Influence TV Presenter of the Year award.

This veteran actor and on-air personality will be competing against renowned personalities from across Africa, including Trevor Noah, Bassem Youssef, Ebuka Uchuendu, and Dingindaba Buyoya. The awards ceremony will take place in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, on December 17, 2023.

The nomination has been widely celebrated, with sports presenter Sadick Adams describing it as a significant achievement. Ghanaians online are thrilled by the news and are rallying behind Akrobeto, hoping that he will emerge victorious over his African counterparts.

Akrobeto’s exceptional stewardship of Real News has garnered international acclaim, and his humorous sports coverage has even attracted a crossover audience in some European countries.

Recently, Joyce Blessing revealed that, at one point, she contemplated leaving Ghana in search of better opportunities abroad, but Akrobeto advised her to remain in Ghana based on his personal experience.

Having traveled extensively, he emphasized that he had gained more advantages from staying in the country rather than venturing elsewhere.

During an interview with Okay FM, Joyce Blessing expressed her gratitude towards Akrobeto for persuading her to remain in Ghana and pursue her music career. She acknowledged that his advice played a significant role in shaping her into the successful individual she is today.

“I was not joking when I hinted at leaving the country. But since we are humans certain things will get to you. There was one person who sat me down and advised me against the idea of leaving the country.

“That person is Akrobeto, he told me to ‘discard the idea of discontinuing my music career and leave the country for abroad. Because he once traveled and when he came to Ghana what God has done for him exceeds the opportunities he had abroad’. I don’t know what he saw though but he convinced me to stay in Ghana,” she said.
