Cameroon Rap Legend Jovi Appeals To Sarkodie, “Stick To Twi… There We Can’t Tell How Basic You’re”

The legendary Cameroonian rapper Jovi has expressed his support for Nasty C. He writes to the Ghanaian rap talent Sarkodie, advising him to continue rapping in his own tongue, Twi, because rapping in the English language requires a high degree of intelligence.

He made this post on his Facebook page, following Sarks release of ‘Landlord’, a reply diss song directed to South African rapper Nasty C. “Bruh rapping in English is still one of the most underwhelming things you can ever hear. You should stick to Twi, because there we can’t tell how basic you are at writing,” he bluntly stated.

Popular South African musician, Nasty C opened up on why he does not have a collaboration with Ghanaian compatriot, Sarkodie, in a freestyle he did during an interview on South Africa-based Metro FM.

Sarkodie hit back at him in a similar fashion saying it’s not true he asked for a collab from him. He went on to clarify that he is aware of what Nasty C is doing and that it is necessary to hit a big gun like him in order to sustain his relevance.

Jovi is not the only compatriot who thinks Sarkodie’s rap skill is weak. Yaa Pono also thinks Sarkodie’s attempt to shove Nasty C off is wack- to put it bluntly.

According to Yaa Pono, when he heard the buzz on the internet concerning the ‘Landlord’ song, he was eager to listen to it only to be hugely disappointed after analysing the song first-hand.

He said he himself will serve Ghanaians with better rap songs as an alternative to Sarkodie’s weak lines delivered in the ‘Landlord’ song in 2023 and beyond.
