The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed a substantial 40% increase in prize money for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire in 2023.
Should Ghana emerge victorious in the tournament, they stand to receive an impressive $7 million, with the runner-up securing $4 million. This boost in financial incentives extends to the semi-finalists, each set to earn $2.5 million, and the quarter-finalists, who will now receive $1.3 million.

Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the President of CAF, highlighted the organization’s substantial progress in enhancing prize money for major competitions over the past two years.
