John Kumah: Ghana’s Parliament Mourns Death Of NPP MP

Ghana’s parliament is deeply saddened by the unfortunate passing of John Kumah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu and Deputy Minister of Finance.

In light of this tragic event, the Parliament of Ghana convened today, March 7, 2024, to pay tribute and remember his untimely demise.

During the parliamentary session, several MPs expressed their shock and engaged in discussions regarding this unfortunate news.

Meanwhile, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Majority Chief Whip, eloquently described John Kumah as an exceptionally intelligent and considerate individual.

“I am on behalf of the Majority Caucus and myself wishing the family courage and peace during this time of mourning, John Kumah was a great man who contributed his quota toward the betterment of humanity and our Nation, It was such a privilege and honor to working with him. He was an incredibly smart and thoughtful man. May his memory live on forever.”

An earlier report by Tru News Report reveals that the popular Ghanaian politician died after a brief illness, according to a statement issued by his family.

John Ampontuah Kumah, also known as Lawyer John Kumah, was highly regarded by his constituents in Ejisu, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

He was known for his integrity and dedication to job creation, inspiring hope in both the young and old.

Before his political career, Kumah served as the Managing Director of Majak Associates Ltd, a prominent building and construction firm with projects across Ghana. After becoming a lawyer, he established Aduaprokye Chambers and served as the Managing Partner of the law firm.

In 2017, he was appointed as the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) by the President. During his tenure, he successfully trained 45,000 start-ups in three years through the Presidential Business Support Programme, resulting in the creation of numerous jobs for the youth nationwide.

With over 17 years of experience in leadership roles, Kumah demonstrated his creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness in promoting entrepreneurship and supporting youth development.
