My Husband’s Crush Is Omotola—Afua Asantewaa Replies Trolls After Kuame Eugene Statement

Afua Asantewaa has addressed the criticism she faced from certain Ghanaians following her revelation to a Joy Prime reporter that Kuame Eugene is her celebrity crush.

She explained that her concentration wavered and she forgot her lyrics when Kuame Eugene unexpectedly appeared at the Akwaaba Village to show his support.

During an interview with Joy Prime, Afua Asantewaa openly expressed her admiration for Kuami Eugene’s musical talent. As the unofficial record holder for the longest singing marathon, she revealed that this incident occurred because the A-list artiste signed to Lynx Entertainment has always been her ultimate celebrity crush.

“I said that guy came and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene,” she quipped.

Afua added that her husband was aware of her fondness for Kuami Eugene.

“My husband knows. So when he got there I said ‘Kuami you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember,” she further noted.

Fans criticized her for this action, arguing that it was completely unnecessary for a married individual to publicly declare such a statement.

They argued that, as a married woman who received immense support from her husband throughout her journey to break and exceed the Guinness World Record for the sin-a-thon, she should have been measured in her utterances.

In light of the online criticism, Afua Asantewaa has retaliated by stating that life is too brief for individuals to target her harmless statement.

She emphasizes that her husband, Mr Aduonom, also harbours admiration for Nigerian actress Omotola, hence, there should be no fuss about her comments regarding Kuame Eugene.
