Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu To Quit Parliament After Current Term

Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Suame Constituency, has made known his intention not to contest again for the seat in 2024.

In an interview on Wontumi TV on January 3, the Majority Leader announced his intention to step down due to his age and the fact that he has served for many terms.

He first became a Member of Parliament in January 1997. He has kept the seat since then, representing the constituency in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

“I have made it obvious that, given my advanced age, this is where I draw a line and express my appreciation.”

“Regional and national groups are still trying to get me to run for office at this second, but I’ve already made my position clear,” he emphasized.
