Rihanna Launches Maternity Clothing Line; Shares Photo Of Her Breastfeeding
For her Savage X Fenty underwear line, Rihanna has introduced her first collection of maternity clothing.
The “Rude Boy” singer debuted the line by posing with her and A$AP Rocky’s 1-year-old son RZA while wearing one of her brand-new nursing bralettes. She is also carrying their second child at the moment.
During her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna announced to the world that she was expecting her second child.
Promotional photos posted on the Savage X Fenty Instagram page show Rihanna, 35, nursing RZA while holding him in her arms. Every image of the pop star holding her son shows her beaming. She had long, straight hair that was dressed in a black bralette and had a straight fringe that covered some of her eyes.
The caption reads: “Not ur [sic] mama’s maternity bras… Designed by Rihanna, approved by baby RZA.”
According to US Vogue, the capsule collection features three new bralette styles and an oversized graphic T-shirt with a cheeky slogan that says: “Make more babies.”
The bralettes come in a variety of colorways and are modeled after Savage X Fenty’s best-selling items. The Savage X Cotton Maternity Bralette, the Savage Floral Lace Maternity Bralette, and the Savage Not Sorry Maternity Bralette are all part of the collection.
Each piece of underwear is made specifically for new and expectant mothers, allowing them to comfortably fasten the bralette cup with one hand while holding the infant with the other. Additionally, they have a full nursing sling with a neckline to underarm opening, a set of nursing clasps, and adjustable front-facing straps. The bralettes’ fourth row of clasps on the back enables variable sizing all throughout pregnancy.
Sizes range from XXS to 4X, with prices starting from US$35 to US$60 (£27.46 to £47.08).
Rihanna told the fashion magazine: “The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to mums at every stage of their journeys.
“I want to remind people that you can still channel sexiness and feel good while being a parent.”
Last month, Rihanna modelled her brand’s new collection of sheer lingerie and showed off her growing belly.
During the Super Bowl halftime show in February, the “We Found Love” singer revealed her baby bump in a full-red ensemble while putting on a show-stopping performance.
She was actually expecting the second kid she and A$AP will have, a spokesman later revealed. Fans were similarly taken aback when she unveiled her first pregnancy’s bare baby bump in a photo shoot after concealing it for the first five months.
The name of the couple’s son wasn’t revealed until a year after his birth. His name is RZA Athelston Mayers, according to a birth certificate that The Daily Mail was able to get. Rihanna talked about how she got highly “protective” of her son’s privacy earlier this year after it became apparent that pictures of RZA might have been released to the media.
