Shatta Wale Went Too Far With Insults Against Fadda Dickson – Okyeame Quophi

In light of dancehall artist Shatta Wale’s recent insulting remarks directed at Kwasi Aboagye, host of Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, Ghanaian musician and radio personality Quophi Okyeame has issued a warning.

Kwasi Aboagye, host of a radio programme on Peace FM, recently questioned Shatta Wale’s claim that he had been paid £80,000 to perform at the Ghana Music Awards UK. Shatta Wale retaliated with a brutal Facebook Live video in which he insulted not only the radio host, Aboagye, but also the company’s CEO, Dr. Osei Kwame, and Managing Director, Fadda Dickson.

Okyeame Kofi told Graphic Showbiz that Shatta Wale should be more careful with his words next time he’s angry and that Shatta Wale’s response was too much. He voiced his disapproval of Shatta Wale’s outbursts, especially towards bystanders in the payment dispute.

He urged Shatta Wale to think about the effects of his actions and statements before making them public.

“What did Fadda Dickson or Despite do to warrant such insults? I think he went overboard and must guard his words anytime he wants to make a statement. If you have a problem with Kwasi Aboagye, why extend it to his bosses? That was not right, and if he has any apology to make, he shouldn’t feel big to do so. This industry is too small, you might not know whose help you will need in future,” he said.

Okyeame said it’s not wise to use insults in every situation, even when angry, and that Despite Media was within its rights to blacklist Shatta Wale for his offensive comments. He emphasised the value of communicating ideas without using personal attacks.

“The Despite Media can decide to blacklist Shatta Wale because he said he doesn’t need them. If you insult a media house and state clearly that you don’t need them, why should they give you their platform? It is not everything that you say when you are angry. Sometimes, you can make your case without insults, and your message will be well delivered,” he added.
