During a press conference, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, commonly known as Chairman Wontimi, expressed his concern regarding the detrimental impact of Kennedy Agyapong’s offensive behavior and incessant outbursts on the party as a whole.
Chairman Wontimi emphasized that the issue at hand is not a personal attack on Mr. Agyapong, but rather a matter of preserving the integrity and reputation of the NPP. He urged the flagbearer aspirant to exercise prudence and be mindful of his conduct.
“Who has said NPP members are Fools? Who has said, he does not know why he is a member of this party? Who has been using all kinds of unprintable words against respected members of the party? People can judge for themselves. I am not destroying the party; the person doing that is out there for all to see” “He came to the region and insulted the Regional Minister, the Majority Leader and the Vice President. This all happened at his supposed showdown walk. He didn’t even come to pay homage to the party’s structures before the showdown walk” Wontimi bemoaned.
The NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman rather touted his leadership qualities as a unifier in the region.
“After my elections, I have taken the pains to unite with those who stood against me. I visited them to plan positively for the party. I have met Chairman Coka more than five times; our meetings sometimes span 4 hours”, he revealed.
