John Mahama To Discuss Corruption-Related Issues In Nigeria

At the 53rd annual national conference of the Institution, which began on June 19, 2023, Mr. Mahama will give a speech. At the Conference titled “Asset Valuation as a Global Anti-Corruption Tool,” he will be discussing the damaging effects of corruption on economies.

According to a statement released by his Special assistant, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Mr. Mahama would additionally provide the attendees with broad guidance on how to professionally apply values and standards to fight corruption.

In his acceptance speech after being named the NDC’s presidential candidate for the 2024 election, John Mahama said President Nana Akufo-Addo has totally failed in his fight against corruption.

He criticised Nana Akufo-Addo for trying to cover up numerous corruption scandals, including the recent report on illegal mining by Professor Frimpong-Boateng.

“The truth is, this government cannot just wish away the reality that Ghana is not looking good on the Corruption Perception Index of Transparency International. The President no longer makes corruption a pet topic in his speeches because corruption has defeated him, hands down.

“Let me assure you, as I stated in Garu in the Upper East during my campaign tours, that I will adopt a robust root-and-branch approach to fight corruption because corruption is a major source through which state resources are wasted. It will not matter whether the people involved are our own or from some other party,” he stated.
